The school education department has issued instructions for effective implementation of Right to Education (RTE) Act 2009 and Haryana RTE Rules 2011 for the children of migrant labourers working at the sites of brick kilns, agriculture fields, seasonal industries and construction sites. A provision has been made that such children do not drop out with change of site by their parents and they get admission in appropriate class in the schools in their own village or state or next site. A spokesman for the department said that children of seasonal migrant labourers need to be given special attention to ensure that benefits under RTE Rules are made available to them. As per the instructions, the infrastructure and manpower should be mobilized and mechanism as well as strategy be prepared to ensure that the children of seasonal migrant labourers at brick kilns, construction sites, seasonal industries and agriculture fields receive the benefits admissible under the Haryana RTE rules, he added.
